Dr. Kotsanis is a board-certified otolaryngologist (ENT). Originally from Greece, he settled in Chicago, Illinois with his family when he was 15 years old, eager to experience the American Dream. He returned to Greece for medical school at the University of Athens. Then he continued his specialty training in otolaryngology (head and neck surgery) at Loyola University in Chicago, where he met and married his wife Beverly. After he finished his medical residency in Chicago, Dr. Kotsanis and his wife moved to Texas in 1983 and they opened his practice, the Kotsanis Institute, located in Grapevine, Texas. The practice offers its patients both conventional and complementary medicine (also known as integrative medicine), with a focus on healthy nutrition. For over 20 years, Dr. Kotsanis has been conducting research and continues to develop IRB approved protocols for cancer and other studies conducted at Alinea Clinical Research, within the Kotsanis Institute practice.
Vanessa founded Alinea Clinical Research in early 2018 and is the Site Director for three Alinea locations. She is also conducts studies as the Lead Research Coordinator. The main location is integrated within the Kotsanis Institute in Grapevine, Texas and two additional satellite locations are situated in Denton and Dallas, Texas. Vanessa is responsible for overseeing operations for the research departments. Her clinical research journey started in 2007 in Omaha, Nebraska where she conducted Phase I-IV clinical studies. After moving to Dallas in 2009 with her husband and daughters, she accelerated her research career by becoming a Senior Site Director for one of the country's largest Site Management Organizations. She is passionate about cancer research and also enjoys the challenges of researching new indications. Vanessa works together with Dr. Constantine Kotsanis, Dr. Elizabeth Seymour and medical teams to implement new study protocols at each of Alinea's three locations.
Dr. Seymour is originally from Denton, Texas. After graduating from Ryan High School in Denton, she attended Texas Woman's University and received an undergraduate degree. She earned her medical diploma from the St. Matthews University School of Medicine in Grand Cayman, British West Indies, and completed her residency at The University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Dr. Seymour is board certified by the Institute of Functional Medicine to practice family medicine, and also holds a Master’s degree in Health Services Administration. She practices at Medical Associates of Denton, a comprehensive medical facility offering quality care for families. Dr. Seymour is also a staff physician at the Environmental Health Center in Dallas, Texas. In her research roles, she functions as both a PI and SUB-I. Dr. Seymour is married to her husband Eric, also a Dentonite and they are the parents of two sons.
